- BIG BOEFE COTTONA variety of cotton grown in Minas, Brazil. Has a coarse, strong fibre and staple 3/4-in. to 11/8-in. Yields about 30 per cent of lint. The plant is grown for two or three years, after the first crop is picked the plant is cut off about 3-in. above ground, in/the next season it sprouts again and yields another crop which is heavier than the first.
